36 mm, 40 mm or 41 mm: Choosing by Proportion
Why case diameter is only the first step when comparing how a watch will wear.
Diameter is easy to quote, but lug-to-lug length, thickness, bezel width, dial opening and bracelet taper can make two watches with the same number feel very different.
Use a watch you already know
Measure a comfortable watch and compare its full dimensions. Wrist circumference alone does not capture wrist shape or personal preference.
Look at side profiles
A long clasp or flat lugs can matter more than one millimeter of diameter. Front and side images together give a more useful picture.
